Harcourt Arboretum – in Autumn and Spring,
I was lucky enough to visit twice thanks to my workplace organising ‘Wellbeing Walks’. A Wellbeing Walk is a guided walk of around an hour with a nature expert, we learned about various plants and trees, and my favourite fact – about fractal patterns in nature. One example of a fractal pattern being ferns, and how studies have shown that fractal patterns can reduce stress in humans! All of this delivered whilst you’re being present and taking in your surroundings, we all went back to work a lot more chilled out. There is so much to see that an hour doesn’t really touch the surface, you could easily spend half a day here.
Harcourt Arboretum costs around £7 for an adult day ticket (with various concessions available) and takes about 30 minutes to reach by bus from the centre of Oxford.
